Everytime I go to the barber, I always feel like I'm wasting their time when I ask for a "trim." I don't know what it is exactly, but I'm always imagining their thoughts as they cut a few hairs here and there. Something along the lines of annoyance because they love cutting hair so much, as it's their job; which they were passionate about it enough to choose as a career, and they can't stand that I don't want them to cut very much hair off at all.

Is that so wrong?

Being in the military, I already have to have my hair to standards, and those standards are just a little bit too short for my tastes, so I try and walk the line when it comes to my hair discipline more than the majority of service members. So when I get a haircut, 4 times out of 5 it's always just a small trim.

On the flip side, when I do get a major change, there are times that I just love sitting in that seat. I went to a small barber shop down the street when I lived in Norfolk, and every month it would be the same woman working there. She was really nice and I loved the treatment I got there for only 10 dollars. Well, as she would cut my hair, she would style it as she went along. I always enjoyed that for some reason.

Not sure if it was because I liked looking at myself in the mirror or not, but most assuredly it was fun to see what I could do with my hair if I wasn't in the gosh darn Navy.

That's right.
I said: "gosh darn."

one more year before I can get rid of stupid regulation.

One.
More.
Year.
