I realize I don't update as often as I should.

I mean...this blog is to keep you updated on my life right?
..er...is it this one.

Fine...either way...same conclusion...let's move on.

Things are going...eh...smoothly at the apartment. Try having four guys live together in a two bedroom apartment, and tell me it isn't a challenge keeping things in order.

Nothing a Dry Erase board with a calender on it couldn't help.
(do you ever feel like you're taking care of children?)

Sometimes I do.

Don't get me wrong, I love each of these guys in their own right, but having to deal with them is a different story. Tolerance is more acceptable on one level than it is on others; and it's a different situation with all three of them.

That said, they are all cool friends...but living with them isn't going to be in my list of goals.

Speaking of goals and where I'm going to be living.

I'm up for orders.
In military terms, that translates to: I'm given options on where I want to be stationed next come this April.

I won't go into detail on my options, but know that my next year and a half (as of april) will be spent on "sea" duty, as opposed to shore duty; which I am on now. Let me tell ya, it's been a great two years, and I dread going on a boat. What I'm trying to look at is getting stationed with another squadron, be it helicopter or fighter, or whatever is available to me. No matter what I pick, though, it looks like I'll still be stuck doing a 6-9 month deployment sometime in my near future.

As for where my home command will be stationed, I'm looking at anything from Florida to Japan.

My initial thoughts on some things were, "Screw the boat...if I can't do a squadron that stays on land..." (which I tried, but they decided to be jerks and mark it with a big red "denied." ..metaphorically of course) "then I'm not going to waste my time...I'm going to Iraq."

yes. Boat, to me, would be a waste of time.
yes. I wouldn't hesitate to volunteer for Iraq if it meant staying away from the middle of the ocean where I'd be stuck twiddling my thumbs when I'm not working.
no. the decision wasn't as easy as I though it'd be.

Turns out, I decided that my interests are no longer the best interests, but also keeping the interests of my most interesting affection thus far (aptly titled Girlfriend...but I just call her Andrea...you should to.) would be the better choice.
I'm sure you agree.

Nod.
Smile.
Slap matt's wrist.

"OW...not that hard!"

Lighter.

"thank you...I appreciate it"

I'll keep you updated as we talk about my options, until then, go look up "getting files off of corrupted harddrive" somewhere that costs me less than $99 at Best Buy.

Thanks.
