screw sitting down and thinking this one through...I know what I want to say...and finally it's to you.

Yes you Danielle Marie.
This one's your song.
Your poem, your serenade, all the things that you've wanted for so long.

and you were right to want them.

Believe me when I said that I wanted to give everything:
flowers
jewelery
children
marmaduke!

"and if possible I'd even give you the moon"

attention
romantics
everything you adore.

but I guess at 17 I just didn't know what was in store.

But can't you see, Danielle Marie...
That one day you called me yours.
"Hello boy, and Goodbye heart"
that song's been done before.
You're first love, hand, and lips
All those you chose only me.
Can't you see?
this one's for you, Danielle Marie.

So why the silence now?
when before you said you'd tell me everything
and anything
about some things
and all things
with-out strings
or silly schemes
f o r e v e r...

that's what it seemed.

...before he came.
you know what what I mean.

Before I realized that I'm really not that perfect.
or should I say "for you I wasn't worth it"
The time and the secrets, everything you wasted on me.
3 years you can't have back...(God please tell her that...I'm sorry)

can't you see, Danielle Marie
through all the tears there used to be joy
and laughter too, all because of this little boy.
Don't you think that now the table's turned
that he could have just one last plea.
cause can't you see,
this one's for you
Danielle Marie

And "no" it's nothing compared to what he could give.
with his God given voice and those meant-to-be-love-song lyrics.
Let's face it...he has a stringed instrument.

He can give you everything you want,
he's everything I'm not
To pick up where I fell short
I'm sure he'll give it all he's got.

To make sure you're the only one
his one true love
and apple of his eye.
your second kiss,
and second chance
To make sure all memories of me will die.

cause now I'm "the guy"

The guy you choose to ignore
and say "what is he calling for?"
the reason why you have a shoulder to cry on.
The guy you choose to regret
the one you try so hard to forget
...and the guy that I wanted to protect you from.

but now it's him...my turn is done.

but can't you see, Danielle Marie
that even though I'm a thousand miles away.
There's still a heart that beats for you...
(regrettably a little less every day.)
In the end I guess I'll never know
True love won't come, I'd rather be alone.
Than let you go...

(DON'T LET IT GO!)

for once the joke's on me.

but can't you see...

this one's for you...
