Superman Returns is the only movie that I can recall making me feel.

I don't know how they did it, but no matter how many times I watch the movie I can't help but get excited when the baseball stadium erupts with cheering when he stopped that plane and realized he was back.

Then when the boy throws the piano on the ship, I was anxious beyond belief.

Then sad...
angry...
bitter...

when Lex Luthor and his fogies started to beat up my hero.

That's the funny thing though, he was never my hero.
I didn't grow up with superman.

I mean, sure, I knew of superman, and I was growing up when I watched the cartoons and junk, but I never really got into superman when I was old enough to be a fan of it.

So how could I feel all these emotions from one movie, which plot really didn't expand very far?

How can I feel the excitement of when Clark Kent first learned he could jump, that he could fly?

It just goes to show you, that what Superman said in the movie might actually be true.

"You say the world doesn't need a savior, but every day, I hear them asking for one..."

Don't even get me started on Passion of the Christ.
