I got my first letter today. It was from my old choir teach Mr. Kenton Deitch.
It was an invitation (though he knew I wouldn't be able to make it) to his new High School's production of Home of the Brave. I am, by no means, a patriotic person, but just to get that invitation with a thank you from him made me proud of what I chose to do, if only for a moment.

This definitely brought back a few memories; even though it was probably the most simple letter I could ever have gotten. Amazingly, I wasn't even sure I had the write email address for the guy, so to receive a letter from him shortly after releasing my address sure was a surprise.

Mr. Deitch has always been very supportive of his students, and I really admire his amazingly upbeat attitude even during tough times. The guy has definitely been more than an inspiring person in my life, and to this day I remember how much of an impact he made on me during my 4 years of high school. I know he says he'll be thinking of me during the musical, but I'll be thinking of him my entire life, and I just want him to know that.

I don't want to ruin future chances for sharing this story in better settings, so for now I'll just leave it at that.
