With the passing of Heath Ledger, many speculated on what would happen with the movie he was in the middle of filming. For a while, rumor swam around that Johnny Depp was to take on the rest of the role, not that he would re-shoot anything that Ledger did, but instead that he would actually take over where Ledger left off.

Explanation?

In the movie, Heath has a number of different personas himself, and at one point of the film he actually goes through a "magic mirror"; the idea was that Johnny would appear at the other end INSTEAD of Heath, and then take the role from there. This seems like a pretty decent move considering the circumstances, and I can't think of anyone else besides Depp to be able to pull off the role in the wake of Ledger himself.

Well, how bout Jude Law and Colin Farrell?

It seems the final role of Heath Ledger has become even more titular than before, as now they won't just have Depp taking on the role, but Law and Farrell will also assist in giving Ledger "one Final Tribute."

I'm excited about this, to say the least, and I think this is by far the best move they could have made. Though I'm not sure how much screen time Heath might actually have, to think that we'll at least get interpretations of him is great none-the-less, and I hope he filmed enough where he ends up being more of a supporting role than what he's meant to be.

About the movie itself, there's still little information except that Heath Ledger's character worked for the traveling theatre of Dr Parnassus. Early photographs showed Ledger (before his death) hanging himself in order to entertain the audience. He was an illusionist, as has been stated about the movie, which also explains how he can turn into 3 other separate characters and it still be a very believable.

I do imagine, however, that the script is being tweaked a little bit (especially with the time they have been given) to further make this movie worth seeing in order to witness Ledgers final role before he died.
