Tonight was very unique in that I got to do something I've never done in my entire life: watch the moon rise.

It didn't start out like any moon. No, tonight was a harvest moon, and boy was it huge. It started so close to the ground that it was almost as if you could run up, stand under it, and bounce it off your fingertips. As I drove east down I-10 towards Houston I got to watch it as it gradually rose into the sky, changing hues from an orange to it's usual bright white.

I imagined what it would be like to rise along with it. To put my arms behind me as I flew steadily through and beyond the clouds. The sky has always fascinated me in some way, and I suppose it's why mikato shinkai is my favorite animator. The way he draws the sky is so beautiful.

Of course, nothing can come quite close to the thing that God created. The vast landscape covered by blue can only be witnessed in person. I've never seen a picture or video that can represent fully what it must be like to actually be there; whether it be among the clouds or in the middle of the mountains. Trust me, the grandure is much more spectacular in person.

The day I fly to the moon and back, I'll tell you about it.
