This one came to me during the walk to work. Maybe it's just a daydream of possible events in the future, but I think I could base an entire movie stemming from this dialogue right here; which, interestingly enough, is usually how I get most of my screenplay ideas. Starts out with one scene, and I build off. This one is taken out of context, and is harsh in a way, but I think the feeling here overpowers the actual words.

Girl:
"Why can't we just go back to the way things were?"

Guy:
"There are consequences...and this is part of that...because of what you did. No. Today we're going to do this for me. Because I waited all this time for you, while you were off chasing after your own satisfaction. Because I can't come back so easily without knowing what it is I'm getting myself into. Most importantly...

Because by the end of the day I want to have fallen in love with you all over again, and I'll want to have known that - this time - I did it right."
