I got an ipod this last weekend. 30 GB video capable ipod...because an 8 GB nano would've just been a waste after a while.
I gotta say, I'm pretty satisfied...don't like spending money like that (but I do it anyway, willing to reap the consequences as they come) but all the same, it was a worthwhile purchase. So now, instead of only carrying around 100 of the best songs I can think of on my itunes compatible cell phone, I now have the luxery of carrying all 1,185 of my ever growing collection of inspiration and deaf-ication. What more could you ask for?
well until now, you couldn't ask for anything more...because there was a real lack of competition. But now microsoft has finally decided to join in on the fun, and bring us more of what we don't need...and weirdly enough, it's called a "zune"
Really, if you ask me, and I know you're not. I'd say that it won't last for very long. Aside from being far behind the ipod, it doesn't have much to offer.
Sure, you can share music with your friends via zune-to-zune action. But after three listens (or three days, whichever comes first) they are forced to either buy the song or just get rid of it. Which really isn't that bad, but after a while that kinda thing might just get annoying.
Sharing photos and homemade videos is a good plus as well...but in all reality, we don't need a. . .'zune' to do that. Don't our cell phones and computers suffice enough.
A few things I like about the zune, is the fact that it comes in a brown color. No, seriously.
you might not like the color, but for some reason I have a tendancy to buy brownish like clothing, and it would've fit fine along with all of my stuff. But, then again, there's nothing that my black ipod can't match with, so screw the doodoopod.
I do also like the fact that you can customize this zune a little more than the ipod. And I'm talking about the wallpaper on the display screen. But really that's the only thing that made me raise an eyebrow about this.
So I stick to what I said, this thing really doesn't have too much to offer...well...except just more ideas on what the people want and where apple is going to get their inspiration on how they can bring the next mp3 player even further than it really needs to go.
Let's just keep it simple shall we.
